You

What's your company name?

Use the legal name of your business. If you're signing as an individual, put your full name instead.

What type of party are you?

In most cases pick Corporation or LLC if you have a company. Choose Individual if you're signing as yourself.

Will you be signing this pilot agreement?

Choose Yes if you'll sign in the editor yourself. Choose No if someone else on your side will sign.

What's your full name for the signature block?

This is how your name will appear as the signatory for your party.

What's your title?

A simple title like Founder or Owner is fine.

What's your address?

Usually your business address, or your home address if you're signing as an individual.

What's the email for your party's signer?

We'll use this when you send the document so they can complete their signature.

Them

What's their company name?

Use the legal name of their business. If they're an individual, put their full name instead.

What type of party are they?

In most cases this matches how they operate: Corporation, LLC, or Individual.

Who will sign for them?

If you only know one contact, use that name for now. You can update it later.

What's their title?

In most cases this is CEO, Founder, General Counsel, or another authorized role.

What's their address?

Usually their principal business address. Approximate is okay if you don't have every detail yet.

What's their email address?

We'll use this as the counterparty recipient when you send the pilot agreement for signature.

Agreement

Which side are you?

A pilot is a time-boxed evaluation. It exists so both sides can decide whether to sign a full agreement afterwards.

What is being piloted?

Describe the product in a sentence. Being specific keeps the trial scoped to what was actually agreed.

When should the agreement take effect?

Most pilots start today. Choose a custom date if you need a different effective date.

What is the effective date?

Pick the date the pilot should begin.

How long should the pilot run?

Long enough to prove the product, short enough to force a decision. Most pilots run 30 to 90 days.

How long is the pilot?

Give a number of days, or describe the period in your words.

Is the pilot free or paid?

Free pilots are easier to start. Paid pilots tend to get more attention and convert better.

How much does the pilot cost?

Include the currency and whether it is one-off or recurring.

How will the customer pay?

Invoicing suits enterprise buyers. Automatic billing suits self-serve products.

How long does the customer have to pay?

Net 30 is the standard commercial payment period.

What would make this pilot a success?

Optional, and the most valuable thing you can write here. Agreeing the bar up front is what stops a pilot drifting.

Include a path to a full agreement?

Adds a clause saying the parties will negotiate a definitive agreement in good faith if the pilot succeeds, without either side being obliged to sign one.

Which state's law should govern?

Usually the state where your company is formed or where you do business. Delaware is common for US companies.

Which jurisdiction?

Name the country or region whose law should apply.

Do you require any advanced terms?

Things like the liability cap, technical support, production use limits, personal data, data deletion timing, or logo rights.

Advanced

How should liability be capped?

Pilots carry low fees, so caps are usually low too. Capping at fees paid is the standard for a trial.

What is the cap amount?

Include the currency.

Will the provider include technical support?

Pilots fail more often from a stalled setup than from a missing feature, so support is usually worth including.

What support is included?

Describe the channels, hours, or onboarding help offered.

Limit the pilot to evaluation use only?

Choose Yes to keep the product out of the customer's live systems. Choose No if the pilot needs real production traffic to be meaningful.

Will the pilot involve personal data?

Adds a clause requiring a separate data processing agreement before any personal data is uploaded.

How quickly must the provider delete customer data afterwards?

Applies when the pilot ends without a full agreement. Sixty days is the common window.

May the provider name the customer publicly?

Most customers say no during a pilot, since nothing has been proven yet.

How should disputes be resolved?

Litigation means court. Arbitration is private. In most cases litigation is fine unless you prefer arbitration.

Anything else to include?

Optional. Describe it in your own words. AI will draft the legal wording from what you write here.
