Heavy editing moves the text. A signature line that sat under a paragraph can end up mid-sentence after insertions and deletions. The clause is agreed, and the field is in the wrong place.
Once tracked changes are resolved, there is a review step before anyone signs. You look at the document and check that the fields still sit in the right place. If a field drifted, you correct it there.
Signing does not start until that review is done. The parties are not asked to sign a clean draft whose fields were placed against an older version of the text.
This is the step after the markup is resolved and before the signature request goes out. It exists because the words and the fields can get out of alignment when a contract is edited hard.
